The Studio Space
We are blessed with an amazing multi-use space on the property of Casa de la Paz, and we welcome proposals from artists, performers, teachers and workshop leaders who wish to use the space to create, teach, perform, rehearse and share their talents!
The Studio Space is a beautifully welcoming + versatile separate building on the property —with its own entrance — that works well for many types of workshops, classes and performances, with theatre-style seating for up to thirty guests.
Currently, the space offers:
lighting (including black light and 1 spot)
four work tables, drop-cloths
16 chairs (room for 16 more) + 4 barstools
ample street parking
upstairs loft area with balcony
two work sinks
bar, cooler, coffeepot, hot water kettle
wings on stage right
traversable curtains downstage
The Studio Space is at street level (no stairs) and is available for rent to artists and artists-in-residence; proposals are considered on a first come, first served basis.
"This was such a fantastic place to give art classes in San Miguel! My students loved Joseph's inspiring artwork on the walls and the sophisticated ambiance of the classroom. As a teacher, if was such a relief to have fresh water and the coffee machine ready for classes, great lighting, and a flexible space for painting and drawing classes. Parking was a cinch for students as well. Plus it's always a joy to work with Joseph and Eli. Such fun!"

"Performing last night at the Studio was so very magical. You made the room beautiful and welcoming and filled with your very calm and healing energy. Thank you for it all — the preparations and cleaning and hauling, and the graciousness with which you did it all!"

"As if San Miguel de Allende isn’t lovely enough, up on the hillside is The Studio Space — a magical, warm, inviting nook to create, inspire and enable connections to organically happen. Perfect as an art studio, a theatre, or a workshop hub, The Studio Space is like walking into an alternate reality where real life is checked at the door enabling an individual or a group to explore possibilities. The art is beautiful as are the hosts. It’s one of my favorite places to teach an improv workshop or to lead a laughter yoga session … I’m looking forward to returning in the future!"
